Jim Hess

CEO - Highland Ridge Psychiatric Hospital

Jim Hess currently serves as CEO of Highland Ridge Hospital, an acute psychiatric hospital that provides inpatient and outpatient mental health and substance abuse treatment to adults and adolescents. Jim is an expert in conflict management, policy development, executive management, performance improvement, risk management, corporate compliance, utilization management, new and existing program development, and employee and client relations. He has extensive experience with regulatory compliance, having traveled throughout the country as a CARF surveyor. He has inspired systemic change at the facility, corporate and community levels through the implementation of a shared vision, focused clinical training, collaborative problem-solving team-building, and performance improvement initiatives. 

 

Jim holds a graduate degree in clinical psychology with a specialization in sport psychology. He has worked with groups, individuals, and athletes at many levels, including collegiate, professional, and Olympic athletes helping them improve their performance through mindfulness and other mental conditioning techniques. He loves helping others pursue and reach their true potential.

 

Currently, Jim is developing an online mental health magazine called Van Gogh’s Ear and a mobile mental health bus which will bring services and support to those struggling with homelessness and mental illness.
